There are five things every business needs to do in order to be successful. This marketing minute explains those five things, and why they make a difference.
Attract the right prospects.
It doesn’t matter how many people you attract to you if none of them are interested in what you have to offer. You don’t just need any prospects. You need the right ones – the ones that are hungry for the work you produce and have an immediate need for it. That’s why the first thing every successful business needs to do is figure out who those right prospects are so they can position themselves to meet them.
Turn those prospects into buyers.
Now that you’ve met your prospects, it’s time to engage them in conversation. Explain to them how what you have to offer not only meets their immediate needs but gives them a chance to be part of something bigger, part of making the world a better place for everyone.
Transition those buyers into fans
You got them to make the initial purchase. The real work now begins. You have to prove that your desire to serve them doesn’t end when they make that first purchase, it just begins. Make sure you find a way to keep in touch with them, to help them connect with your other clients so they can share their experiences and build a network that supports them in achieving their goals. Teach them how to make the most of what they’ve purchased, and listen to their needs so you can continue providing them with outstanding service.
Convert fans into promoters
Once you’ve invested the time and effort into creating fans, capitalize on that by inviting them to become promoters. Share your dreams, your visions of a better world, and then invite them to partner with you to achieve your vision. Encourage this participation by offering them special incentives that make it worth their time and effort to participate.
Make a positive difference
There are plenty of people out there who are in it to make a buck, but successful businesses understand that their own success depends upon helping others succeed. The minute a business forgets that is the minute that business stops growing and begins to stagnate. Investing in making the world a better place isn’t just a good thing to do – it’s a sensible thing to do. The more you improve the lives of the people around you, the more people will be around and available to purchase your work – and the more they’ll feel good about making that purchase from you. It’s a win-win for everyone.
Building Your Brand is the first step
Building Your Brand helps you identify who those right prospects are and what you have to offer them so you can turn them into buyers and then turn buyers into fans by giving them reasons to keep buying from you. It helps you convert fans into promoters by allowing them to be part of your efforts to make a difference so they can feel good about buying from you and have more reason to share their experiences with other people.
Last, it helps you to make sure that you are making that positive difference in the world by creating a rough plan for doing just that.
